Resilience in this Employer Market Shift

In my previous VLOG Rising Up with Resilience I covered the 7 Pillars that we need in balance to achieve a position of optimal resilience and now let’s move into the commercial and social responsibility we have to our teams as business owners and leaders.

Business owners and leaders always have a commercial and social responsibility to their teams and there are 7 key elements to nurturing teams into a position of resilience.

Balance = Resilience
1.Introduce your teams to the 7 pillars and then actively nurture those pillars.
2. Be courageous and make the tough decisions so you don’t leave your teams floundering and seeking direction.
3. Build and nurture your workplace community.  4. Ensure there are great channels of communication with all stake holders relieving fear and providing security.
5. Lead from the front with intention, calm, certainty, and optimism.
6. Practice Empathetic Leadership.
7. Act responsively and with agility.  In this world that is changing with progressive rapidity we must remain current if not ahead of the curve.

 Think of it this way
When we choose to build physical strength, the process involves the tearing of muscle fibre, then with considered nutrition we build the muscle up again into a stronger version of itself.

In our businesses the tearing has been largely caused by COVID-19, the nurturing is made up of sound new hire decisions and wise human resource and health and wellbeing practices, the resilience comes out of our investment in the training and development of our people thereby retaining top talent, customer loyalties and supply chain dependability.
