Culture Leadership with RIPPLE

A great leader generally inspires a great culture in the workplace and combined they are Culture Leadership generating productivity and profitability through improved employee engagement.

Culture Leadership is a fundamental building block of any successful business supporting business and employee wellbeing, connection, purpose, opportunities, and appreciation and an increasing number of NZ businesses are understanding and reaping the benefits of a more supportive, inclusive, and employee centric leadership style.

A business’s wellbeing has several measures including its ability to recover quickly from tough times such as we have just experienced, its employee retention rate, productivity, and profitability.

When it comes to connection and purpose, we are talking about 2 innate human needs that need to be met at home, in our communities and in the workplace and great leaders recognise this and meet these needs for all their workers starting at the onboarding process and continuing with consistency throughout the tenure of each employee.  These needs also demand diversity and relationship creation, support, and development.

When we look at the training and development success rate of a business it can be measured by its promotion rate percentage the metric for measuring internal promotions made annually.  If this rate is too high, it can be indicative of a lot of change in the business if it is too low it may be reflecting a lack of growth and development opportunities available and be reflective of low employee retention rates.

Humans also have a need for demonstrations of appreciation and what this looks like varies from person to person.  It may be a simple “well done” for some, a gift for others and remuneration perks for another.  Your willingness to acknowledge this element can also help you with talent acquisition.

These are just some elements that support a successful Culture Leadership that will strengthen and grow our businesses.

They will promote goodwill amongst your workers and positively impact our bottom line.  They will also promote goodwill amongst our existing customers whilst attracting new customers who year on year for the past 5 years at least have become increasingly conscious of whether the businesses they support in turn support and value their employees
