Health & Wellness with RIPPLE

Everyone seems to be on the Workplace Health and Wellbeing wagon and there is good reason for this because it is an essential component of every business and addressing it increases employee engagement resulting in 21% increased profitability.

Our physical and mental wellbeing are intertwined, and subtle adjustments can create disproportionate returns and gains.

There are 7 pillars to our health and wellbeing resilience.
1. Occupational – this is about gaining a level of satisfaction and achievement at work or at study.

2. Intellectual – this is our creativity, skills and culture and the desire to expand our knowledge.

3. Physical – this is the necessity for good nutrition, sufficient quality sleep and regular exercise to build strength, endurance, and flexibility.

4. Mental – this is all about our mind and partial care comes through working on our physical wellbeing, but it also includes working on our self-identify and self-talk.

5. Emotional – this is all about our feelings and feeling safe to express them in a positive way.

6. Social – this is understanding our importance in society and knowing that we have a role to play in the common welfare of our communities geographical, educational, workplace, and family.

7. Spiritual – this is about finding the meaning and purpose of our existence.  It may be a faith or other belief value system and its purpose is to find joy and hope, a sense of trust and connectivity.  We live according to our values and beliefs and practice tolerance of other people’s value systems.

We have a communal responsibility to look after our individual health and wellbeing and more and more workplaces are assuming a care giver role which makes sense given that we spend around half our waking hours there and business leaders can support their workers in every one of the 7 pillars.
